Skip,

  I haven't been following the TDI stuff much lately, so this is news to me, but I don't doubt it. On the other hand, if you're looking for a car that isn't going to have any problems, you might as well put off your shopping for at least a millenium or so! I don't know about you, but every model of car I have ever seen, driven, heard of, or even thought about has had some sort of design flaw or trouble. If you know of a model without problems, please enlighten me!!!!

  As far as cars go, however, my 302k 88 Golf has never had any serious problems. Maybe I haven't driven it enough, though!!! One significant design flaw is the heater core that VW replaced under a recall about 10 years ago.

  But, we digress, this is the Peugeot group, so I'll stop defending other cars.
