The M3 straight 6 certainly isn't a slouch. And the 3 liter in the 330i
isnt' either. It's only when you expect the 6 to propel a 5-car does it
seem sluggish. Otherwise the BMW straight 6 is very powerful.

Yeah...very much a downside there.

Get her a good Miata. I have two of them. They're bulletproof, cheap, and
they're true sports cars.
The Z3 gets laughed at more often that not by sports car people.
