[Peugeot-L] '85 505 Turbo Speedo-cable interchange or work-around?

I should have listened to that little voice telling me that I would have a problem! Purchased a one piece speeddometer cable and while removing the old one discovered that my '85 Turbo has a two piece configuration. Is there a work-around for this or am I stuck ordering another set of cables? Thanks for any input......
