[Peugeot-L] 84 505 carpet cleaning

I wrote to the group a while back for some suggestions as to how to clean the driver's side front carpet on my 84 sedan. The carpet is the victim of a leaky clutch master and it smells.

Several cleaning substances were suggested and my plan is simply to soak the carpet (in situ) as many as three or four times using a wet/dry vacuum after each soaking and then letting mother nature and maybe a hair dryer dry out the carpet,

Before embarking on this venture I have a few questions which are:
		1. Does the 84 505 have the same under carpet pad system that the
504's had? I ask this because if it does I will loosen the carpet at the driver's door to get at the pad. If it does have a separate pad (as did the 504) it will take a long time to dry if I don't pull it out and wash it outside of the car.

                2. I have removed weather-stripping on about ten 504's, but have never taken the plastic moulding or stripping out of a 505. The 504 had a series of Phillips screws that held the plastic to the car's metal interior and, in earlier 504 models, supposedly kept the carpet's sides in place. I have no idea how the plastic comes out on the 505 and would appreciate someone advising me as to how to remove it. Thanks,
Ken
