Uh... Maybe they want some idea of what you expect
to get out of it??? That's why I would want to know.
I mean, unless I knew a car were ultimately within my
price range, I wouldn't bother bidding on it either.
But, that's just me, and I'm not new to eBay.
I never understood the reasoning of not listing a
reserve price. Theoretically, you're not going to
sell unless the bid goes above it, why not disclose
the reserve? If your reserve is too high, you won't
get any bids anyway. If your reserve is low, you
should state that to encourage bidding.
You would never place an ad in a newspaper or
something without listing a price. Even if the price
is different from what you would ultimately take, it
gives prospective buyers an idea of where you are and
a starting place for negotiations.
Just my 2 cents, although I might take less!
