Sorry for the long rant, I just had to blow off some
steam. This is why I hate working on 'Murican stuff.
Well, this and the fact that I had to use a step

Have a great weekend everyone!

The part you are looking for was probably the same part or similar to that
used on a Vic.
Which would most likely be in stock, also depending what dealer you go to
you may get horrible service and pricing. Dunno why but some same parts on
different vehicles have different part#s, and the parts counter kid usually
doesn't know how to X-refrence without using a puter. There usually is a parts
book sitting on the counter, or if you have the part in hand they can usually
dig it up or something similar out of one of those bins.
The dealer I go to for my Ford part needs (mostly emission and odd-ball
parts) is also a fleet dealer so they have what you need in stock or can be
gotten within the day.
Being friendly helps a lot, (dont bs em everyone hates a blowhard) by my
second visit the parts guy told me where the warehouse dist was and where i
could get the part at cost, granted they only take cash but on various items i
have gotten parts for below half of retail.
Alot of dealer service departments are under pressure not to have expensive
(usually anything that costs more than 25 bucks thats NOT a common part
failure) in stock, its considered a waste of money to have a part like that in
stock just sitting.
Its not a service thing for a 'common' car like an American car its a money
thing, same with a BMW or Benz, there are fewer dealers of them than American
so they cannot afford to not have the part. They have too keep the parts in
stock. Besides anything thats American and 5yrs old is not economic to have a
dealer work on it. By then most parts stores have what you need for a
domestic, with the exception of some od ball emissions device.
