First you want to determine if you're getting spark or not. I believe you won't get fuel if you won't get spark (fuel pump relay.... tachymetric? relay.. same thing?).

Second, assuming you're getting spark, does the car have K-Jetronic or LH-Jetronic injection? If you've got electrical wires running to the injectors, you've got LH-Jetronic injection.

A properly functioning fuel injected car will not vapor lock (liquid fuel turns to vapor and since the pumps can't pump vapor, you don't get fuel). K-Jet cars will have a fuel accumulator, LH-Jet cars will have an external check valve. On the LH-Jet cars, a failed or failing fuel pressure regulator can cause similar problems. Depending on the fittings, a fuel pressure regulator can be had for as little as $40.

Also consider that the warm start mixture may be off. On a K-Jet car the classic problem would be a gummed up CPR or a failed heating element in the CPR. On an LH-Jet car, the coolant temp sensor (and of course its wiring) should be high on your list of suspects. The general failure mode would be that the engine is flooding while warm (as cold engines require more fuel to keep running).
