Hi i have had some experience of the engine in question it was
indeed a volvo penta marinised peugeot engine although it has many
differences from the 2.3 peugeot diesel engine
The 2.1 which it used had less bolts in the flywheel also the ring
gear for the starter was different there were other minor
differences but these are the main ones
I sold a 2.3 engine to someone here in the uk which they used to
convert a 2.1 although they had some problems with the flywheel
fittings due to the difference in bolt spacing
They had an addapter made to suit and i helped fit the engine to the
boat and it worked fine
