I had a guy come out and look at the engines I have to see if any of
them would work in the place of the engine that he had. He also had a
Peugeot engine in a sailboat. We took measurements, and it looked like
they were very similiar. I have an XD2S engine out of an 81 sedan, and
it had the same 6 bolt flywheel pattern. In 1982 they went to the 8
bolt pattern with the smaller ring gear teeth. So an earlier engine
might be very useful to you.
When we were looking at them I thought that what he had was just an
XD2 engine. Which would be a 2.3L NA engine as opposed to
turbocharged. I really don't know if I was mistaken or this is some
other version that they also offered in a marinized version.
Hope that helps!
