According to my elec manual (1987 N9TE, ZN3J etc) the AC compressor clutch
wire comes from junction MC295
Pin references found
Pin Wire To:
1 135 AC compressor
2 47 Thermocontact switch (for AC) (some models only)
Book seems to indicate that there are only one or two wires depending on
model, so your mystery wire must be hooked to a different connector.
Given that it has the black heat protection on it, I would suggest that it
connects to somewhere on the block where it can get a bit hot, usually the
fan clutch and oil pressure wires have this protection on them.
Any sign of a number on it?
Hope this helps a bit
Kevin

Subject: [Peugeot-L] N9TEA Mystery Wire
Hello,
I found a disconnected/broken off wire today. It is at the front center
of
the engine and comes off a small string of wires, one of which goes to
the A/C
compressor, one of which connects to the side of the distributor. This
one
unplugs from the group with a male connector. It's a green wire, right
now
about seven inches long, and has a heavy black plastic sheath around it.
Apparently and quite obviously the car runs without it, but I'd like to
hope
it connects somewhere and will make my detonation light stop coming on in
hot weather.
Incidentally, I bought some Magnecor wires for the car, the 7mm set so
they'll fit in the sheath. They were about $51 are look pretty nice.
Thanks for any tips.
Bill
