I went to my boat today to check the engine numbers. The only ones I
could find were stamped on the cylinder head. The numbers are:
XD 1B IV
7942 000 589
The engine is a 4 cyl. diesel. Do these numbers mean anything ?
I know several of you have said what kind of engine you think it is -
do these numbers track with that ? Or should I look for other ident
nos. on the engine ? My owners manual says it is 4 cyl , 2.1 Litres
(128.93 cu in) engine. It has a cast iron block with removable
cylinder liners.
