Re: [Peugeot-L] No brakes 505 TD wagon

You haven't lived until you have done this in at least a 7000 pound moving truck. Yup, that was last November's excitement for a fall morning. I got the full load from house one to house two, jockeyed to get the ramp into the house two doorway, then smelled something extra. Fluid was on the drive, but it looked green. I sent for water, but was able to get only two quarts into the rad. another test of the fluid told the tale -- then I tried to move and stop the truck with the brake: Uh-Uh!! We drove the 20 miles to my mechanic at 15-25 mph mostly in third gear (of 5), sometimes in second or granny. Little traffic, but still my stool was loose for a couple of days afterward. The negative payoff for that trip would have been pretty awful. Front brake line in a terrible location -- and we thought the French engineers could screw up a mechanic's day! GM did pretty well for my guy!!
