I met Bob Countess from the old Peugeot Owners Club -- we traded
letters back and forth,,, he sure liked his Peugeots,,, many like his
203, 403, 404 even his 504 Convertible along with a 404 'C' ,and later
on with that old 1918 (around there car) and Steffan's old 604
I stayed at his house too--- he liked Table Tennis, which we never
got a chance to play, and he set me up with a guy who had 2 - 304 cars...
Funny, that night the lights went off, and I had to go to the bathroom
real bad,, I ended up crawling on the floor to feel for the bathroom,,
I told him that morning about the lights-- and he laughed a lot...
Also his wife , Elda, got a kick out of a Cincinnati Landfill that was
always in the news from smells and overfilling.... That landfill was
call 'Elda Landfill' , and I told her as long as I lived in
Cincinnati-- I would not forget her name...
Bob never questioned me about anything political, never said anything
out of the ordinary to me,, but yet Bob liked HIS Peugeots a LOT-- and
this is why I knew him,, and respected what he had...
He had many older Peugeot (60's and 50's) contacts-- and without his
304 Contact-- I would have never ben able to get that sedan (304) of
which he delivered it to me here in cincinnati.....
Sure Bob was different-- somewhat unexplaiable,, but perhaps I am
different too-- but the one thing we did have in common was Peugeot
cars-- parts everwhere, and the love we shared with out Peugeot hobby....
