Yea it's a shame that these things are getting rare. I'm definitely going to get the thing on the road again. The engine was actually rebuilt less than 70K ago, so the bearings and most of the stuff is in pretty decent condition aside from the cracked pistons. It actually was a very fresh motor when I messed it up. I will probably end up doing a semi-rebuild, just getting the cylinders straight and put new pistons in it with new rings, and then get a little head machining done. The bearings will have to do as is and I'm pretty confident that they'll last for as long as I'll keep the car. and if they don't, well I may not be keeping the car that long :-(. Thanks for the replies and information, keep em coming if you have any more ideas.

I'm with Brian Holm on this. You might have a really hard time getting the parts you need.
Bearings are hard to get and expensive if you can find them. Personally, I think once my N9T dies, thats it since the parts to rebuild the motor right just are not availible. But you might get lucky still. Good luck if you do deciede to try it.....

Subject: [Peugeot-L] 505 turbo n9t machining

Hi all,
I'm located in San Jose, CA and I need to find a good place to do some machining work on my n9t that's currently being rebuilt. I've got everything apart and I'd like to take the head to get checked out and have a valve job done and whatever else it needs, valve seals ,etc.(maybe some head work on a flow bench if I'm lucky? Hmm) I've got the block apart and would like to get the cylinders honed straight and have it checked out. I'd like a place that comes well recommended and may have had some experience already with this motor. I'm also looking for a place that will treat me well and give me some guidance through the process because this is the first time I've rebuilt a motor. Basically I'm just wondering if anybody has recommendations for a machine shop in the bay area. Thanks for any hints or suggestions that you may have!

P.S. - 2 cracked pistons, #1 and #3. Minor cracks in between the compression rings. I guess it's time to take it a little easier on the motor after the rebuild, and better yet find some real engine management ;-).
