[Peugeot-L] Rear brakes locking 505 estate

I had a fluid leak on the rear wheel cylinder recently and replaced this and the brake shoes on both sides of the car. Now I am finding that when I reverse and apply the brakes (gently) the brakes lock on very harshly. Any ideas what may be causing this?
