[Peugeot-L] Re: 86 turbo gas nt9e rattle at 2k rpm

This is a shot in the dark, but you may want to check the heat shield near the spark plugs for missing bolts. They also hold the bracket. I have lost some in the past. They are easy to forget to retorque when reassembling everything, mainly because they are out of sight, and they face downward. I even discovered missing bolts after I had it in the shop. It is a pain timewise on that engine to get everything buttoned up. The bolts are a special size, and sometimes if they get dropped, they remain MIA. It will rattle without them.

There also should be a rubber and bolt holding the bottom of that heat shield. This can be a pain, and is sometimes done away with.

A little trick that I use is to leave the intercooler feed pipe bolts loose a bit, put the intercooler back on to find the alignment of the pipe. Remove intercooler trying to keep the pipe in the same place, and then tighten the bolts at the bottom.

There's a huge learning curve on this job.
