Yeah Paul,
It's a good idea to shoot the box sections of any car up with a waxy
anti-rust compound to prevent inside-out rusting. Common brands are
Rust Check, Dinitrol/Dinol, Waxoyl and others. There are DIY kits
available for it.
My former 1963 404 sedal was from CA and pretty nice when I started
driving it in BC back in 1985. I did no box section injection before
using it, and five years later the car was a withered rusty wreck.
Lesson learned, the hard way. Even CA cars are rusting, just
slowly....
