I recently got my '85 505 GLS station wagon back on the road after a
few years of sitting and she is running very well except for this noise
she is making from the rear end. I don't know if it is low oil in the
differential or if it is U-Joints. It only seems to do it when she is
warmed up and intermittenly. Sometimes upon acceleration she makes the
sound it's like a GGRRRRRRRRR type sound. She also does it upon
deceleration. Anybody have any thoughts? Oh, by the way what type of
tool do I need to use on the drain plug on the differential it's square
and I can't find anything that fits it.
Thanks
