In spite of the major setback on my leather seats and slow progress with the
car in general. Two things works out today.
Has anybody bought official Peugeot Anti-Theft lug nuts (9605.85)? I
bought, what I think, were the last set from W-H. $65. PO put non-Peugeot
lugs on one of the rims - 13/16" (sigh). Anyway, rather than buying 4 brand
new regular lug nuts @ $12-15, I bought these, taking the extra lug nut and
transferring it to the wheel with the non-standards, plus that wheel got one
anti-theft as well. They're way cool, with 4 eccentrically placed pins,
over which a plastic 19mm cap goes. Can't tell they're there. Try to put a
19mm socket on it and it'll free-wheel. Very nifty item. Does anybody have
a source for these?
You'd think, who'd the hell want a set of Peugeot rims?! But, if you life
in Seattle or another crime center that has decrimilized property theft,
you'll notice that the intelligence of your average car prowler hovers
around sewer rats and they'll just see your rims, figure they'll go on your
Step-mom's Brother's Common-Law's Honda or your buddy's Neon and just take
them. If they don't fit, they can catch them on fire or do something else
cool with them.
Second, I've gone through the locking mechanisms on both rear doors and they
work like butter. I took a bunch of pics I'll post soon.
