Hello all,
I currently drive a Rover 827. The last Peugeot I had was a few years ago, a 86 205 diesel.
This Rover has been very reliable , but 17mpg is a little bit too thirsty. I did try a Rover 800 vitesse sport. More powerfull but a bit better on fuel, That turned out to be very unreliable and I sold it on. For those that dont know, that had a 2 litre turbo petrol engine. The turbo was one part I had to replace. The car had covered 129.000 miles. It used a Garrett T25 turbo unit. £400 for a recon . I eventually picked up a good used one for £90.
I am know considering buying a 406 TD. But the aforementioned turbo problem has made me a little wary of turbocharged engines. So, If I do buy a 406 TD, am I likely going to have to replace the turbo on that, Or , what sort of mileage do they usually
cover before a new turbo is required.
All help appreciated.
Andy
