I think the 84 Tach. relay would start the pump when ign. switch is in
run position, but only for a short time. Since I switched to the 86
style relay on my 85 it only seems to run once I blip the starter.
Is Your tachymetric relay getting a signal telling it the engine is
actually running. I think this signal comes from the coil. check the
right upper strut mount area for any wires that might be disconnected
or faulty connections.
