Or, you can hit reply, and then erase the senders name, and under "To:" type in Peugeot-L@yahoogroups.com" just like I just did.

You have to realize that this list, unlike so many
of the other automotive lists, and dare I say, most
lists in general, where the conversation is meant to
be public and therefore the whole reason for a list,
this list is set so that responding to messages posted
on the list go to the original poster instead of to
the list from which it came. So, if you want your
posts to be seen by the list, and really, why wouldn't
you?, you have to remove the default address and
replace it with "peugeot-l@yahoogroups.com", otherwise
your response to a post will go to the original poster
and not to the list.
When questioned about it and suggestions are made to
conform to the more standard way, the owner always
says that that is the way the lists were originally,
maybe 10+ years ago, so that is the "correct" way. I
guess the whole point of a list is to have general
conversation in a public forum. It would make sense
if the responses went, by default, back to the list,
since that's the whole purpose of it, but instead, the
Peugeot list does it the "correct", or rather,
obsolete way. But then again, Peugeots are a little
different from every other car out there, so why
shouldn't the list be configured a little different
than every other list out there?!
So, with that in mind, you have successfully posted
at least one note to the list! I think you are in
good shape now, but remember to either hit "reply all"
which is not the default on most mail interfaces and
which sends your response to the list and the original
poster, which means that the original poster gets TWO
copies of the response which can be annoying
sometimes, OR simply remember to remove the default
addy in the To: field and replace it with
peugeot-l@yah...
Sounds like you have a nice car, but a '76 model car
is not new anymore! It may be in like new condition,
but its not new! :^)
