[Peugeot-L] 89 Turbo Wagon

Over the last three weeks, (Since Death Valley), increasingly losing coolant, to the point where I have had to STOP because of dash warning.   (since losing coolant at an increasing rate, from about 2-3 tablespoons of initial loss, I am pouring pints - quarts depending how far I drive. Consequently I carry coolant and top off before I drive.

I brought it to local mechanic which did not have adapter for the 505, said "build up pressure and check for leaks", which I did and did not detect any leeks, to which the mechanic said, "if it's not going outside, it's going inside."

My reaction is to hope its not a blown head gasket, and if it is a blown head gasket, does anyone have experience with the $100.00 block seal? Or do I repair the gasket? I only consider this option, because this motor does not exhibit fatigue, it is a STRONG engine and hums down the way soaking up bumps on the road like no other car. I just think that the most minimal cure might prolong life in this engine without tearing out the soul.

Ok, a little to poetic, but really, people, any thoughts about this approach, any experience with the new polymars and other liquid fasteners, that might alleviate a teardown of the head and attendant components?

Thanks,

Vincent
