Re: [Peugeot-L] 89 505 Turbo Wagon/Found a Leak!

Vincent,

Check carefully for the actual source of the leak. There isn't any coolant by the mounting leg, so it must be running down from above somewhere. If the actual leak is at the joint between the core and header tank near the upper hose spout, that is where they usually go when the head cracks. The radiator may be saved by fabricating a brass tank and soldering in on, but the head will have to be replaced or rebuilt by a competent shop experienced in doing n9t heads. (I have seen some real hack jobs on turbo heads.)

If the leak is down low it is less likely related to an engine problem. If it is a puncture hole in a tube in the core you can probably fix it by pinching off that tube, but if it is due to corrosion you will have to replace the radiator, because there will soon be more leaks.
