An idling motor does not produce very much pressure, so it's not an
acurate way to check a cooling systems health. Your leak might have
even started due to too much pressure in the cooling system.
Again, I would avoid the stop leak. Regardless of what might be
wrong with your N9TEA, just go ahead and have the rad rebuilt. When
I had mine redone, they even added an extra core for cooler
runnings.
