My 1989 405 DL just began making intermittend groaning sounds from the
fuel pump with the tank 1/4 full. It was on level ground when the
noise came and the only time I heard it before was on sharp RH turns
with the tank nearly empty. There are no driveability symptoms, yet.
What do you figure, pump on its way out, or some other cause? I
understand that the car has two fuel pumps......one in the tank and
one outside....
Also TJ if you are out there in the Seattle area still, do you have a
sahara beige metallic 405 that you're wrecking? I've bee thinking of
swapping front passenger doors and front fender on the same side, only
2 years after accident damage to mine.
Cheers
