It would probably be easiest to get a 403 engine from someone in the
USA, as 203's are very rare. Aside from the cylinder heads and bore
diameter, they're about the same. 203 cylinder heads are more troubleprone
(cracks, etc), and expensive. They made a 403/7, which was
basically a 203 short block with a 403 head, but these would probably
also be rare. There were all sorts of speed equipment made for 203s and
403s, including headers, up to 3 carburetor sets, and even a
supercharger. A stock 203 sedan went from 0-100 KM/h in around 36
seconds, and a "souped" 203 "screamed" to 100 KM/h in slightly over 22
seconds--about the same as a 504 diesel pulling a U-haul trailer. I
have some photos of 203-403 modified engines, and I think a Peugeotpowered
formula racer. Let me know if I can help.
