Hi
First, the car doesn't belong to them so there's no justification for
the commentary on age. If they were asked to accept that excuse they
certainly wouldn't and it's not their choice as to what car someone
drives. If they have a problem finding employees who can drive I
would suggest that their employment practices need some revision.
Also, I fail to see how it could be hard to drive, that excuse is
absolutely unjustifiable in my mind. Certainly they park a multitude
of cars, all different. Just because your shift pattern may not be
identical to the others is not an excuse. To me this is just reckless
behavior, and trying to justify it is even worse. You should have
received an apology at the very least, not an excuse.
Are they responsible for your car when they go to park it? If so I
would dismiss their complaints and make sure that they cover the
expense of having it repaired.
