$0.02 worth more!
I'm in the moving business. If I drop a sensitive old bureau with strong
personal value on the way down the stairs, and it goes crunch on one corner
and scrapes the wall and dents a step, I don't get off saying it was heavy
or awkward. I SCREWED UP! I have to make things right. I get to pay for the
repairs to the "newer" house. AND, although I could replace the old bureau
with another one from a yard sale for $20, I have to get my friend "Rich the
restorer" (a real guy) to do a nice repair. If I don't immediately offer to
do this, I'm not going to get paid for the job without going to court, and
I'm going to have an awful public relations problem that will cost me future
business. Although the car business would like to think it is different for
them, it really isn't!!
Alex offers very sound advice.
