I don't remember having any sort of contact on this list with Mr.
Countess and I am sure that many (family members, list members, history
revisionists, etc.) mourn his passing. I think, though, that referring
to his denial of history and the extermination of millions of people as
his "political views" makes for a bit of a whitewash. The term "view"
ought not to suggest blindness.
I accessed the website links of the organization that one list member
discovered when he googled Mr. Countess, one that denies the holocaust
ever happened. From reading the literature that the organization that
Mr. Countess was a prominent member of, I got the impression that most
of the Jews who died in WWII must have died of boredom as opposed to
brutal treatment, and worse, in the death camps.
I am sure he was a nice guy to some or many, but his "politics" (how
is it that so many on this list seem to have known about his political
views?) seem a bit off base.
