Interesting. Many years before the Subaru Baja, there was an actual commercial version of the 505 that was like that. 505 Pickup Gruau: http://membres.lycos.fr/cit43/Autoshorsserie_2/Peugeot_hors_serie/505_PU_ARD.GIF http://membres.lycos.fr/cit43/Autoshorsserie_2/Peugeot_hors_serie/505_PU_profilD.jpg

Altough the above site mentions this was only a single prototype, that is not the case. Several were sold. Not sure how many. One french person had one for sale for 15000FF with a dead differential: sbeallet@club-internet.fr <mailto:sbeallet@club-internet.fr>

I can inquire if anybody is interested.

Gruau is still around: http://www.gruau.com/ In fact it assimilated Labbe (those who built the 505s for the french embassy in DC) and ambulances Petit (another big user of the 505 wagon back then).

You got to take some pictures of this. I know a list member of old had a wagon converted into an RV, and I think the picture was posted. Might have been around 97 or so.
