I just want to enhance Ben's suggestion a little. When my 505TD was alive,
I had to detach the ground cable at the engine end, clean everything there
so it was as shiny as it could get, then reconnect. That was an annual
ritual, which I realized was necessary after cleaning the terminals and
posts, and still nothing when I turned the key to start. It's easy to reach
on the TD. (I have no idea where the ground connects on my V6, but in seven
years, it has not been a problem.
