Below is the original message. Anyhow, the root of the problem revealed
itself to me when I was driving home from work. In a downpour. Whole
car dies. Died like someone turned off a switch. Sooo, I get out and
check the power distribution group coming off the positive side of the
battery.
I had fixed this when I did my front-of-engine fix and though I'd done a
better than average job. Guess again. One of the two primary
distribution wires had burned off the connector. Why didn't I see this
sooner? I'd taped the whole assembly up with 3M Super+33 tape for
protection, of course.
Some listmembers were mentioning that this is a serious weak link with
the car. I think it was George Nunez. This is a fact. I repaired it,
but it's no better than stock - meaning I expect it to fail within six
months. Before that happens, I'll do overkill on it and do it right.
I'll document it at that time with pictures, etc.
Thanks for all who gave insights!

OK, I thought I'd run this buy you all and get your take.
Occasionally, as of late, my turnsignals will stop. They'll be blinking
along and then they're off. The switch is still in the "right turn" or
"left turn" position. I just get nothing.
So, over the last few days, I thought I'd DST (driver's seat
troubleshoot) it. Try to recreate the problem. Ah ha, there it is. Now
turn on hazard switch. No effect, lights still not blinking.
Eliminate turn signal switch and hazard switch.
Now, try the window washer...
It works more sporadically as the turn signals. Sometimes the washer
will work and the signals wont. Sometimes vice-versa. Sometimes both
work, sometimes neither.
I looked at F3 fuse. It looked OK. But the fuse panel looks rather
ratty.
I'll hook up a test light to the power side of the fuse and see if
anything changes. But, just from looking at the fuse box, I'd like to
R&B it.
How tough is pulling it? Any tips?
As for the signals, anything I'm missing. It sounds like power. Not
ground. Test indicates actual switch and flasher are not contributing
to the problem. Other thoughts welcome.
