That is not the tach sensor. It tells the ECU which cylinder is firing, as
it uses that to independently adjust timing for each cylinder. (used in
conjunction with the detonation sensor)
The tach signal comes off the primary side of the coil.
Again, if you have 6 flashes, it is a weak spark, bad connection, or bad
transformer.
