Why not have your unit rebuilt? Surely, there are competent shops that
can do the job for around $100. I know a great shop in Seattle that
will take jobs shipped to them, but there must be the same caliber of
shops in the Bay area. Check with some local BMW guys if nobody here
knows of a good shop.
