I realize some might think it somewhat off-topic,
but I would like to invite members of this list to the
car show that my local club, the North Alabama British
Motoring Society, is hosting. It’s the EuroBrit Auto
& Bike Expo ’05, and this is our second year hosting
it. Even though a British club is hosting, many of
the more active members are big into European cars in
general, and have chosen to include everything
European to have a much more interesting and diverse
show!
The show will be on June 4th, 2005 in Madison, AL,
just west of Huntsville, AL in north central Alabama,
an hour north of Birmingham, AL, 1.5 hours west of
Chattanooga, TN, 1.5 hours south of Nashville, TN, 3.5
hours northwest of Atlanta, GA, and 3 hours east of
Memphis, TN. Maps and more information can be found

There will be lots of door prizes, some vendors,
50/50 raffle, and discounts on food at the host
restaurant (Allen’s Grille & Grog). In addition to
class awards, there will be Best of Show, Mayor’s
Choice, Diamond in the Rough, Allen’s Grille and Grog
award, among others. All entrants are eligible for
these awards, regardless of country of origin. Best
of all, the Best of Show winner will receive a trophy
plaque and a $100 US Savings bond!!! Runner-up in BoS
balloting will receive a $50 Savings bond! How many
car shows give monetary prizes???
Individual classes will be determined on the day of
the show based on attendance. Entry fee is $20 for
one car or $30 for two. Any more after that are FREE!
This is to encourage folks with more than one
drivable car to bring them all out to make for a more
interesting show. I’ll be entering 3 (or maybe even
4) cars myself and all it will cost me is $30. Same
deal for bikes and scooters, except they are $10 for
one, $5 extra for the second and then the rest are
free. So load up all of your European bikes on a
trailer and bring them down! It’ll only cost you $15
to enter 2 or more bikes. Plus the more vehicles
entered, the better your chances of winning class and
superlative awards!
Registration will be on the day of the show, so come
early and help us make this one of the most diverse
and interesting shows in the Southeast! Also, for
sale cars are more than welcome and anyone wanting to
set up a booth to publicize an upcoming event or club
will certainly be encouraged to do so! If you would
like to set up a vending table, we’re definitely cool
with that, just email me personally so we can work out
