Japanese cars the best buy
18 April 2005

According to the British weekly car magazine, Auto Express, the best built and most reliable cars in the world come from Japan.

Using data from its 2005 Driver Power survey, the magazine says that the top 16 cars, out of 100 ranked for reliability, are from the land of the rising sun.

The magazine adds that five of the worst six models are French firms.

The magazine, which runs Britain's biggest car satisfaction survey, based its finding on 50,000 respondents, who gave their worst votes to Citroen, Peugeot and Fiat.

The best scorers were Honda and Lexus, and Auto Express says the only European manufacturer bucking the trend is Skoda, which had one model in the overall top five. Full details are to be revealed next week.
