Hi,
Today I went for the anual safety check/emissions test in my 92 405.
I passed with flying colors (0.8%CO 110 ppmHC, limits 4.5% and 800) but
during the test (1 minute at 2500rpm) I noticed some oily smoke coming
from where the oil filler cap is.
I remember that when I bought the car, a small vacumm was present
there and no smoke came out, at least not at idle. Now, even at idle
there is a pulsing pressure flow coming from one of the two connections
of the cap. THey other connection is connected to a vacumm line going to
the intake manifold and its getting vacumm.
Did I blow a ring? Or maybe there is something that gets clogged
somewhere that needs cleaning? The disconnected connection, should go
to the airfilter (there is an open connection in the airbox that looks
like it had a hose attached at some point)
