The AOP was used in the front windows only of many '86-on 505s. But there
was a high failure rate of the main fulcrum pin in the regulator. Rather
than repair or improve the AOP regulator, Peugeot sold a CIM motor and
regulator as replacement. I have never seen a failed AOP motor, but many
bad regulators.
I have never tried to repair an AOP regulator, as I have plenty of CIM
assemblies, but it doesn't look that hard to fix with a short bolt and thin
nut staked down, or a big rivet.
