Canadian law will require a maximum S level of 15 ppm at the beginning
of June 2006.
Many fuel suppliers like Shell, Husky and Sunoco alreay offer Diesel
fuel that is well under 50 ppm. In my area, the Shell regular Diesel
is under 22 ppm at all times. The present regulatory limit is 500 ppm.
My 2005 smart has a common rail Diesel with oxydation catalyst and it
does not stink at all once the cat is warmed up, which takes about 30
seconds from a cold start. And it NEVER smokes ;-) Oh, and I am
averaging 61 MPG US with it!
