Is it possible to repair them? The Euro mechanic I occasionally go to seems to think that it is very difficult to much mileage out of a repaired head. Experience? Has anyone driven a car with these symptoms for a substantial amount of time without further problems or enlarged cracks? Rulon

It depends where the crack(s) is(are). Could last a while, but I
wouldn't count on it. It's one of those aggravation one learn to deal
with. It says a lot about the 505 turbo, as I've done a head myself on
my wagon (but for a blown plug, of all things!), and there is nothing in
the showroom really exciting me enough to replace my 505 wagon...
If you do need a repaired head:

They are well recommended, see the list archive.
