Yes the dash light dimmer wheel was right where you said; on the steering column. Thanks. I guess some of the bulbs are out because the cluster is as bright as it gets. I will be pulling the instrument cluster after all. Of course I don't have the manual for this part of the car. So I need to bother you all again. Did someone say there are pins on each side of the instrument cluster to release it?

I am more and more impressed with my 505s TD every time I get in it. I have to figure out why it is smoking so much. White smoke when I start it, then heavy black smoke under load. Here I am attempting to make a biodiesel car and what I have to start with is a smog machine. My feeling is the turbo is stuck and the engine is not getting the proper mixture of fuel to air. Any ideas where a mechanic who knows nothing about diesels should look to check the turbo and maybe some tuneup tips? Thank you
