Can you believe it? I pulled the instrument cluster to check the bulbs and
found the speedo drive stuck. Loosened it up, lubed it and bingo I have a
speedometer! The cruise control even works! I put a hundred miles on the
newly functioning odometer last night! Only thing I forgot to fix while I
was in there was the oil light. Damn it. But now that I know how easy it is
to pull the steering wheel I will go back in next weekend armed with some
new bulbs, now that I know what type the 1981 505 uses.
Ahhh, blessed I feel after this wonderful weekend and all your help. Thank
you, thank you all.
