The only time I've had any difficulty removing a plug from a head was
in one of my 404s with fuel injection - I broke two spark plug wrenches
trying to get it out. The cause was a cracked head, right down the
threading of that plug.....
That in turn was caused by an overheating episode (pegged the car in
red 18 months earlier) due to the coolant freezing on a long descent in
minus 15 C weather and then the engine heating up as I drove over
Second Narrows bridge in Vancouver....
I hope that's not the case with you. I've changed about 150 plugs in
my day and that's the only one I've ever had trouble with.
