Suspect electrical fault, (loose connection, bad earth etc) in the
injection circuit (or possibly ignition circuit).
You won't notice it downhill or coasting because the momentary lack of
fuel won't cause a sudden big drop in power.
I suggest you get some wiring diagrams and diagnostic info and drive
around with a multimeter and a set of electronics jumper leads in the car.
