These are the so-caled ZAP smarts, 2002-2005 low-ish mileage used cars
from Europe, because smart gmbh won't sell them new ones.
They're converted by G&K in CA USA and so far they've done around 100
cars. they're gasoline-powered, unlike the CDN cars, which are all
direct injection diesels.
The cost is quite high compared to the official ones we get in Canada,
which are about 45% cheaper.
There is a fair chance that about one year from now, US citizens will
be able to buy a factory supported smart fortwo from a M-B or Penske
dealer.
