Yeah, I think the valve adjustment is the place to start. Now all I have to
do is remember how to handle a feeler gauge. It has been twenty years since
I was a mechanic. At one time I was talented with the feel of a gauge, not
long after I changed my profession to digital electronics, I attempted to
set points gap and found that I lost the feel for the feeler gauge.
The way I do it now would make a pro cringe. Check it with the proper size
then go up a size, then go down. Very tedious & time consuming.
The whole process of pulling the valve cover looks like a pain in the butt.
I don't mind removing the ten hoses which cross the valve cover, but why did
the designers need to put the air conditioning hose right across the top
like that?
Sincerely,
Brian Rodgers
