[Peugeot-L] 505s TD trans fluid & Biodiesel issues

Good Morning.
Hmmm, good point about the thread name changing. I use gmail for this list and it does sort mail by thread. Gmail also keeps all the mail together even if the subject changes. I don't know how it does this. The reason I never notice is gmail also hides the subject upon reply. I will think about how I can maintain a common subject for my Peugeot 505s Turbo Diesel issues from now on. I appreciate everyone reading and would like to keep it easy to follow. This time though someone else changed the subject. Although it may have been for the very reason you note. Anyway, point taken.

Yes I have attempted the Italian tuneup. A fellow diesel car enthusiast mentioned it. Even if his is a Mercedes Benz, and he a German, I wonder where the term came from?
I purchased two fuel filters and plan on installing the first as soon as the clear water trap which I gather is an add-on to the original, shows a little more crud in it. right now it is brand new looking. As I mentioned in other threads the car is to be used for biodiesel and this type of fuel notoriously dislodges gunk from the fuel tank and plugs the filter soon after use.

On a side note, I ran around eight gallons of my homemade fuel through the system last weekend. The engine seemed to like it. I like the smell better than Dino-diesel. The car idled better with the biodiesel, smooth and tight. The viscosity of biodiesel is about twice that of regular diesel. The car still poured black smoke on the hills. This week I am back to running straight diesel because my first batch of home brew is used up. With any luck next week we will have our biodiesel processor capable of producing 35 gallons per week operating. I have my eye on that fuel filter.
