  But that's in Germany where they could almost be considered "common", at least back in the day! They imported so few here (the USA) that the value would be entirely based on the condition. To an NSU collector, it would certainly be worth something no matter the condition, however, to a regular person looking for a vintage Euro car, probably not much, especially considering that getting parts might be difficult. Especially for the failure prone rotary engine!

  I would love to have one. Unlike a Peugeot where *everyone* knows what it is, hardly anyone would know what it is and telling them that its an NSU wouldn't help!

  There is an old story about NSU drivers saluting each other as they passed by holding up a hand with a number of fingers extended. It seems that the number of fingers extended represented the number of engines they had been through! They had such problems with them when new. NSU swapped many out under warranty!

  Very nice cars for their time. Handled well, were fairly powerful, if not thirsty. First production passenger road car with a Wankel rotary engine, so from that standpoint, quite significant!
