In the book it mentions yellow headed or shouldered bolts and goes on to
give torques for either. I am lost. How do I identify whether the bolt is
shouldered if I haven't taken them out to look at the shaft? On top of this
I see no indication of color. Is 'TTY' stamped on the bolt head? There is a
section on identifying which head is on the block, but this too seems work
for a head which is off. The last couple of head repairs I have done did not
work out very well for me so I am leery of removing the head.
I now have the valve cover off and can see that the rocker arm needs to be
removed. Is there anything I should know about this? I'd hate to get it off
only to find out the bolts are not reusable. The engine runs, if you know
what I mean. I want to keep it that way.
Anyway I see the pattern in the book to torque the bolts but I'm unclear
what to torque them to. Also, in the book it says after torque loosen them
90 degrees? I thought you were saying to tighten them a half turn more after
torque.
Thank you so much
